If you have always wanted to learn how to play mridanga, this is your opportunity.
Taught by an amazing musician who is a regular at all the kirtan events both in the UK and internationally, Kavi will take you through your paces over five weeks, teaching you the basic beats involved in playing a kirtan so one can gain both competence and confidence in playing.
There will only be a maximum of FIVE students allowed to allow quality time with each student. Each student will be expected to bring their own mridanga, take the sessions seriously and practice away from the sessions too.
Kavi Chandra das was raised in a family of Bhakti Yoga practitioners at Bhaktivedanta Manor where he has been playing the mridanga drum and participating in kirtan since a young age. He has been trained by the world famous Vrindavan das, Aindra Prabhu’s personal mridanga player, and spent one year absorbed in Vrindavan dham’s 24 hour kirtan department where he learnt the art and science of kirtan. He is heavily involved in many kirtan projects such as Kirtan London and Bhaktivedanta Manor’s Friday night bhajans where he puts his mridanga theory into practice.
This is a unique opportunity to learn from such a talented musician.
